In 2022 I made a statement on instagram that I had no clue would spark so much debate and opinions...
My daughter was 2 years old and I had casually mentioned on my instagram that I was not planning on putting my daughter in preschool.
My husband was in medical school and I was a stay at home mom so we really couldn't afford preschool and besides I loved having her at home and believed that I could provide a holistic approach to homeschooling for her.
It was as if every person decided it was their moral duty to inform me of what was best for my daughter.
On one hand I got so many messages and comments about how I couldn't possibly be considering homeschooling and there is no way it could prepare her for school/life.
This was truly discouraging to read and almost made me doubt my motherly instincts and ability to teach her.
But then I got even more messages of parents asking how to do Montessori Homeschool and I knew I had found a community of like minded parents who wanted to provide their children with a holistic approach to schooling just like me!
A lot of parents were reaching out and looking for resources to learn how to homeschool. I didn't know where to direct them.
The problem I found is that Montessori curriculum is not reasonably accessible for parents!!
Getting Montessori certified took me a year of full time schooling and $10,000 tuition which is NOT reasonable or accessible for parents.
This is why I created the Montessori Reading Academy! I wanted to make the Montessori curriculum available and easy to use for parents, who like me, want to nurture their children from home!

What Age is the Course For?
The course uses the same curriculum that is used in a Montessori preschool classroom (3-6 years old). The first course is recommended to start as young as 2 years old. It is more important to choose a course based off of your child's developmental readiness rather than age. Your child will progress at their own pace through the content!
Which Course is Right for Your Child?
Course 1:
I Know My Letters Now!
This course is perfect for children ages 2 years+ who don't know their letter sounds yet. Your child may know their letter names, however they need to know their letter sounds to be able to read. Even if your child is not ready to learn their letters yet, this course includes pre-reading activities to prepare them!
Course 2:
I Can Read Now!
This course is for children who know their letter sounds but do not know how to read simple words like: cat, flag, sam, desk...etc. This course teaches you how to help your child blend sounds together to read simple words and even begin reading sentences.
Course 3:
I Understand Now!
This course is for children who can read phonetic words (words that follow the standard sound rules like cat, sun) but don't know how to read more advanced words such as (chick, whale, ball, snail). This course teaches all the exceptions to the rules and teaches children to read books comprehensively.

Hi my name is Riley!
I am a 3rd generation Montessori guide along with my grandma and mom. We all have the middle name June, hence my account name Montessori by June!
